The guy was just one win away from tying Joe Niekro for most wins all-time in Astros history. But one of my favorite players to ever play the game is now officially gone from Houston. He’s set to make his way to Philadelphia and is actually scheduled to start tomorrow. I loved watching this guy perform as an Astro. He made it look so easy, almost effortless at times. I can’t help but wonder just how many more wins he would have at this point had he gotten more run support, ANY run support, over the last 3-4 years (and that’s with 143 wins since ’01). The fact is Philadelphia just got themselves an excellent pitcher who still has plenty of game left in him. With a Halladay-Oswalt-Hamels 1-2-3 punch, the Phillies are primed for another major playoff run. Life can’t be too hard right now for Phillies fans.
