Everything Murph just said about Tim Duncan is 100% true. He’s a big part of the Spurs this season, but he is the 4th option at best on that team. In no way, shape, or form does he deserve to go to the All-Star game based on this season’s numbers. Kevin Love and Zach Randolph both should have made it over him and are having monster seasons. Both guys have the ability to average 20 points and 20 rebounds a night which is incredibly rare. However, while Tim Duncan shouldn’t be a reserve, there is still one player who wins the award for biggest joke of an All-Star: Yao Ming. He has played in a whopping 5 games this season averaging 10.2 points and 5.4 rebounds. That’s comparable to Travis Outlaw of the New Jersey Nets. I fully understand how he made it as an all-star starter: fan voting. However, this doesn’t change the fact that he should be considered one of the worst all-star starters in recent memory (Allen Iverson is up there too).
