It was another tough pill to swallow for the Miami Heat, as they continue to struggle against the NBA’s elite (0-9). Sunday’s loss to the Bulls makes it four consecutive losses for the Heat, after being embarrassed Friday night in San Antonio. After watching the Heat falter once again, I continue to notice the same problems in the 4th quarter as they displayed in many of the close match-ups they choke away. In my opinion, Miami plays their best basketball in transition. LeBron and Wade in the open-court is one of the most deadly combos in league history. The Heat might be dangerous in the open-court, but when the game comes to a close in the fourth, a team rarely gets those transition opportunities since the game is slowed down. The biggest problem is see in the Heat is their inability to be effective in the half-court set. I rarely see them actually run a play or make that extra-pass. Most of the time, LeBron or Wade facilitates the offense. You can’t expect these two to run your offense (just look at Wade’s turnovers today). Miami needs a true point guard. No disrespect to Mike Bibby, but he is not the player he was three to four years ago. Bibby rarely puts the ball on the floor and attacks the basket. He usually settles for the long three-pointer. He has also been a defensively liability with his regressed athleticism. Sorry, but he isn’t effective anymore, and in my opinion, I think he makes the Heat worse when he’s on the floor. Until the Heat sign a reliable point guard with playmaking ability, I believe they will continue to struggle and will fall short of their ultimate goal of an NBA title. Right now, the Heat have no offensive strategy when the game is tight, and it is obviously showing. I’m sorry, but an isolation for LeBron or Wade just isn’t going to cut it.
The Heat better get it together quickly because their next five games won’t be easy.

The Heat simply can’t win because they have no heart ! They’re 1-8 now against the top 5 teams in the NBA with winning records and even then they’ve been known to struggle against lesser teams in the league also . How ’bout the a_s whupping at the hands of the Spurs ? A 30 pt margin of defeat and Matt Bonner was hittin’ three’s like he was hittin’ a pinata !
I’ll have two pieces up on the Spurs’ win against the Heat as well as their loss to Lakers . Will provide you with a link to both when finished .
tophatal ………….
The embarrassing loss, to me, was the Orlando game. How they blew that game is anybody’s guess, but losing like that is just unbelievable.
I wouldn’t say its heart necessarily. If you win you have heart, if do not, you don’t? It could just come down to executing and the fact they are playing good teams. This Miami Heat team has only played together as a team for half a year compared to others and that could partially be the cause. It takes some time to gel and build chemistry. Their biggest issue is team defense. Just look at the difference in the Spurs game verse the Heat defense then the Spurs verse the Lakers defense.
LBJ and D Wade couldn’t find their own buttholes but yet they continue to come up with lame ass excuses when the team is exposed as flawed . Dampier and Ilgauskas are about as much uses in this team’s offense as a member of the Village People …….. would be ! Those two are stiffs !
